Rereading books 1-3 in preparation for #4

I’m doing it guys. I want to be in on the hype.

This book is so poorly written I’m genuinely struggling but I’m also intrigued

I’m finally going to finish this book.

I adored this book.

No but I’m actively disliking this but I’m reading it through NetGalley so I have to finish it so I can review. But my bad. Why did I not realize what the phrase “Spread Me” might mean.

3.5. It was indeed very cute.

The IAD journey begins

Starting my birthday present from Gillian!

I don't know how I feel yet, but I fear I may be up late tonight and unable to put this book down.

The two main characters are vegan. It's made a big deal of. And then this third person, who is basically family and has known one of these people for YEARS offers them both Sherbet like it is a vegan option?? And nobody, not one copyeditor or reader actually caught that????

Everyone in book club has already complained about this book and i am dreading reading it and sorry for forcing everyone into it.

This is stressful

I abhor this writing. The fire of my hate burns brighter than ten thousand suns.

Watch out guys, there are some scary creatures here. Described in their entirety as "huge and savage, with fangs and carrying swords." Oh no! They have have fangs AND swords??! Catch me when I faint...

For all the crying and weeping in this book, nobody actually seems to feel anything ... Ever.

This is a book where sections begin with sentences such as "Kimberly awoke knowing." Need I say more

Also there is no reason for anything happening. Most of this is coincidence and massive plot holes

Oh good, sexual assault. I'm not sure that the author realized that is what just happened, either which makes this worse. And so gratuitous. Man I am starting to hate this book.

Why are all the women constantly crying every time they hear of something bad that happened like 300 years ago. You didn't know them! It's history! I mean thinking "wow that's rough" is one thing but come on....

Glad the women are always described as beautiful which is basically their only power. Heaven forbid we have to deal with unattractive women.

I swear, if he uses the word "inimically" one more time.....

My disgust is turning to hate

Ugh this was so obviously written by a man. I feel demeaned. And this book is also racist. Mostly undertones, occasionally pretty blatant.

So glad women are "girls," and spoken of as "innocent," until men come into their lives. I am really appreciating modern fantasy right now, not gonna lie.
