So many people I know read this book and it surprises me. This doesn’t sound like a genre book with the wide appeal of a Project Hail Mary.

Anyway, now I’m gonna read it.

Art remains delightful. The characters silly. But the plots are getting weaker. They wander around and then spend the last part of the book talking to each other about nothing much at all.
Still fun, but overall the weakest of these first 6 oz books.
Reread with my son.

Pausing between stories to read another book.
Really loved Drive, Gods of Risk and Churn. The Butcher was ok. And Vital Abyss didn’t really work for me. I think the writing in these is stronger than in the main novels.
