Oh my. It appears that the author prefers uneven relationship dynamics. The all powerful Scarlet Pimpernel and his flailing adoring wife. The all knowing Lady Molly, so beautiful, so wise and her humble sidekick who obeys her blindly and adores her and is always clueless as that what is happening in the xaset.

Not liking that. And on top of I have reached the story where a woman is married to a mentally disabled man

Here is the thing...maybe the Baroness and I weren't meant to get along

Currently listening to this because it was one of the hoopla end of the months freebies


It's fun, my only current criticism is that the author tends to repeat the analysis of the main girls feelings.

A brief overview on the essays so far:

3. Oh boy. Yikes. Surprisingly, I love Tehanu for the exact opposite reasons, of what apparently were the author's convictions in real life
4. *Confused noises. I love you girl, but you are making things incredibly complicated

Once upon a time there was a silly clever girl that kept betraying people

a. the title is beautiful

b. the author has gotten lost and so have I
the potential of this story vs. what I we are getting is killing me

c I suspect some kind of twist coming up to wrap everything together but at what cost

d Reardelle is an incredible character and she is underutilized
The magicians are amazing and quirky and funny and they are underutilized
The romance had so much potential

I am enjoying the slow pace -it's been a frantic summer, I need a slow story
Multiple POVs and they are all fascinating
The world building is so good

Ray Bradbury is an amazing writer and he knows it. He is currently showing off😆💀

The main character is getting more unlikeable by the minute.

I cannot believe I am about to complain about an underwater Snow Queen story, but yeah, this underwater story is dragging on and gasp! I am struggling to finish it (😮)

So I think the overall theme in this book is stories on the edge of fairytales. Where you think there was magic but maybe there wasn't. Patricia McKillio is a master storyteller, but personally I prefer when she commits to the myth and the magic...

Ooooooh, half way through story #3, and there she is, the story teller from the forgotten beasts of eld gently killing me🥺🥺🥺🥺

The charm of this book is the Tommy and Tuppence banter. Unfortunately currently Tommy is not around and he has been replaced by the dude speaking American.😑😐😑
