Truly in my memoir reading era! Albeit a graphic novel, George Takei’s inner monologue is well depicted so far and is good accompaniment to the illustrations. Also side note George Takei is such a legend he did so much truly in his career

Such a good book so far!! Definitely a good audiobook cuz of how illustrative and descriptive Javier Zamora is. Altho the book is being told from a 9 year old’s perspective, it is told in a way that the gravity of the situation isn’t lost yet it is easy to comprehend and empathize with. Can wait to read the rest!

The quickest I’ve ‘read’ a book in a while! TBH it’s an audiobook so it helps when I’m doing lab work and listening to it at the same time

It’s nice revisiting all these characters after ages and when they’re older too! I deffo feel bad for Dolphin wanting to live her life but still having to parent her mum… Lee tho is such a g I love him

Audiobook-ing this book cuz I’m in a very mini Jacqueline Wilson nostalgia moment lol and I’ve been ever so intrigued about this sequel

REALLY loving the science and the storytelling so far! Also very intriguing to see how it compares to the movie (spoiler: the book imo is lowkey still better)

Also had a fun first discussion with my friends for our book club re: the plot and mostly the science cuz we’re science people LOL

Just went to an R.F. Kuang discussion/author event (and got my copy of this book signed !!!!!!) and needless to say she is such a girlboss instantly one of my fave authors AND her writing about the not-so-fun aspects of academia guises as a dark academia fantasy novel?? I’m so in >:)

Every time so far I feel that June would redeem herself, she just ends up not doing that she’s lowkey insufferable (good job regardless @ R. F. Kuang I will deffo keep reading)

I’m reading this slower than I thought but I had to stop my reading to document the fact that I’m 16 pages in and there’s already so much lore this is so exciting

Okayyy things are picking up now! I still have no clue about where the mystery will take us - I have some hunches but it’s very open ended rn :) still loving how much food talk there is and how easy of a read it is! Also semi rushing to finish cuz I have to return the book in around a week haha

So far really enjoying it! Light read with the whodunnit element on the horizon/starting to build up. Can't wait to see how it progresses!

Another book added to the roster and hopefully this time I finish it in time for when I have to return it!

(Putting this book on a pause for now but it’s okay so far lots of world building which is v typical of a Ransom Riggs book but definitely will pick up the book another time!)
