Re-reading this book, gets better the second time. Feel particularly vindicated in seeing Carr’s workflow while writing history.

This book has been wonderful to read, the prose is incredible, almost Kapuscinski like. What bothers me though, as with a lot of writing from Indian liberals, is a complete absence of caste, and rather referring to vague concepts of ‘communities’ and ‘family practices.’ Maybe it’s too early in the book to complain about this though.
