One of the “silver linings” of the infamous Year Without a Summer in 1816, when the eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia caused volcanic ash to darken skies, leading to prolonged, gloomy, and stormy weather across the Northern Hemisphere. This historical event brought 4 writers to retreat together confined indoors in Switzerland and challenged to write the scariest story. I currently behold the winner.

“I tell you what, I can’t help coming here to-morrow, I am a dreamer; I have so little real life that I look upon such moments as this now, as so rare, that I cannot help going over such measures moments again in my dreams. The pages I have read have fascinated me and tempt me to stay up late to continue, however, my goal for at least my “maiden voyage” via reading this book is to gain basic comprehension of what exactly quantum physics is. Easier said than done. Even after completing this book, I know I will pick it up many more times in order to truly understand.

“Here’s the truth: When you push someone, it only makes the person push back. You’re working against the fundamental law of human nature. People need to feel in control of their decisions.”
