There are so many places where I want to stop and just think on a sentence, this is so beautifully written!

Immigrant stories are so close to my heart. This one started out strong. I’m reading this without any knowledge of plot or setting as it was a library suggestion. So far good!

Very creepy so far, perfect for Halloween week!

Love the familiar cadence and the opportunity to listen stories about Mrs. Holly.

Their backstories feel so familiar and real even though the setting is fantastical.

Oh! This started out very strong for me. Fingers crossed it doesn’t fall apart on the next chapters.

This may not be my cup of tea. Very vulgar and there are so many boundaries being crossed that I’m uncomfortable, making it had to enjoy. I believe consent is paramount and even at the start a person already violated another’s space, depending how the second reacts, I might DNF this. We already have too many right wing bros thinking this sort of thing is ok.

This is starting sad, wonder if I’ll be able to finish it. Also, some harsh language in weird places.

So, I was offered this book through Libby (to borrow) because I had put a hold on something else by this author. Knew nothing about it, what a pleasant surprise, it reads like what Suicide Squad, the movie, tried to do. So far, so good!

I’m already sucked in this world!
