This book starting with a 61 year old ranting about stairs is just the greatest.

This book is so enthralling.
So creepy and the narrator of the audiobook is really getting the gross factors across.

I am really enjoying this. It is an interesting magic system and I like how smart the fmc is.

Audiobook is due in 2 days, so I really need to start this. It is only 3 hours so it shouldn't be difficult to fit in, but I grabbed the ebook too just in case.

Starting my reread and I'm already feeling so cozy. I'm going to need a hot cup of cocoa immediately.

Re-reading this almost 10 years later and... wow the pace is so fast, the writing is... not the greatest, and yet I cannot put this down???

A slower, quieter book than I imagined, but I'm absolutely loving it.

Absolutely makes no sense that this mom who used to be fine leaving her son at daycare now doesn't like to be too far away from him in the same house but who also NOW has decided she MUST join the dangerous meetup with the MC crew.
Please 😭please just keep the characters consistent. I beg. 😭

This started great, but I swear most this book suffers from companion book syndrome. A lot of the interesting stuff happened in the first book and we had to get past that. In doing so, we spent a lot of time with internal dialogues and musing over characters' backgrounds.
Now, we are 50% in and they are so attracted to each other because of scent + looks and literally nothing else.

Sometimes it feels like the author uses so many words for the story to make no progress. Like the book is super cute, but after 6 chapters I'm just bored and need to switch to another book.

Okay, I'm super glad we got to see Omos again. He's such a cutie.

I don't think I'm quite getting all the nuances? Because some of the emotions and behaviors that occur don't make sense to me.

I think I’ve moved on from the book being funny to Cameron being an annoying little self centered shit. I’m trying to take it as him being extra and dramatic, but just yikes?
I thought this was a romance fantasy with plot — perhaps a mix of The Lightning Struck Heart x The Assistant to the Villain, but instead the plot is Cameron trying to get everything he wants with no work or consequences.

So.... why aren't they together?
They both like each other and everyone (except Sebbie?) knows the feelings are mutual. And yet, we have little to no interaction between the couple?

Wow the mansplaining -- excuse me alphasplaining to the omega. I get this is probably done for the reader to explainwhat a claiming mark does, but holy shit there had to be a better way.

It's always Lincoln, Lincoln, Lincoln. Are we sure this was meant to be a whychoose book?

lol are these gangs or sports teams? Considering how the two teams live so close together and the "league headquarters" is in the bad part of town, I swear this feels like it was originally gang or at least not supposed to be hockey.
How is her dating a guy from another team's brother embarrassing? Like???? People get traded all the time, ain't no one this loyal to team rivalries.
