I've lost count of how many murders there have been on this ship. What I do know is this: I would have locked myself in my cabin AT LEAST three dead bodies ago.

Just realized I've been reading this for a couple weeks without actually adding it to my Currently Reading shelf...oops!

Starting this. I ADORED The Watchmaker of Filigree Street. I'm very excited that the main character of TBS uses a cane, since it's something we rarely see in fiction. (Kaz from Six of Crows is the only other character I can recall.) I have a degenerative joint disease and I'm looking into getting a cane to alleviate pain while walking in public, so this book couldn't have come at a better time.

I've heard so many good things about this book. Want, I'm ready for you to knock my socks off.

Really getting tired of all the mentions of increased magic from Bolshebnoie Duplo. There have been at least five in the past ten pages.

"This whole section is basically Harry Potter meeting Draco Malfoy before meeting his real friends. Just Hamilton's luck to meet his temperamental opposite." Loving the Harry Potter references in the notes.

I really should know better than to start an Evelyn Skye book at 1:30 AM...

I think this is the first time I've seen "panic disorder" named in a YA book? Teen me needed this. Adult me is so happy I might cry. The anxiety rep in this has been handled so, so well.

"Have you seen it in your parents? That moment when they become people? I think you have. It sneaks up on you, doesn't it? One day they're parents, and the next they say something racist, or get a cut that takes too long to heal, or make a simple mistake driving, and a facade falls away and they become mortals like the rest of us. After the facade is gone, it can never come back."

"How can I want something so badly but become so paralyzed every time I even start thinking about it?"

"That computer is my rabbit hole; the internet is my wonderland. I am only allowed to fall into it when it doesn't matter if I get lost."

"Is it too much to ask that no one speak to me in the morning?" Ah, Eliza, I can see we're going to get along just fine.

"She looked...peaceful there, the sunset making her black hair glow with red, like she was holding lava inside her instead of blood. Rishi smiled to himself. The fire she had, that passion? Yeah, he could definitely see her being born with lava in her veins."

Chapter 27...I'm officially dead of cute. "Keep it. Remember me. And don't tattle."

Taylor on revealing her social anxiety to others:

"History and experience have proven to me that it's very hard for people to understand, and all too easy for them to judge."

I've never read a book that has articulated what it's like to live with an anxiety disorder as this one has so far. (Seriously, so good.)

The anxiety rep in this book is already spot-on.

Claudia Gray's BLOODLINE was so good I decided to jump straight in to this book.

Sadly, I think I may end up being one of the few the black sheep who doesn't love this one...not really enjoying it even though I had high hopes.

Non-stop action so far. I love this series!

When you're 13 pages in to a library copy and you're already kicking yourself for not buying this book the last time you were in a bookstore...you know the book is good. (Please stay this good.)
