I’ve read this twice. It’s a great read in my opinion.

This is a story of love and grief of all kinds. Loss of loved ones who have passed and the grief of never knowing the love of a mother.
Tova is a treasure.
Cameron is wayward.

But then…
Marcellus. Marcellus. Marcellus.

Content has no bedroom scenes. Cameron’s character uses plenty of profanity but others did not.

Read for the second time. It’s such an excellent story that keeps you engaged.
My book club also really enjoyed it as well. Many characters, slavery life in the Big House, the Kitchen House as well as the owner’s perspective.
Told in two voices, you get a wide view of all that was going on…good and bad.

Great peek at some interesting recipes as I search on how to eat in some basic yet fulfilling ways from biblical times.
