p. 58 - Sourdough is basically a gastronomic alternative to The Sims.

Set in Park City ("Star City"). I had to make sure she didn't actually go to Park City high school!
So far so good.

Huge trigger warning for anyone who was at the WTO protest. This novel contains graphic descriptions of the assault from the Seattle Police on peaceful demonstrators --people trained in non-violent protest who were not only unarmed and complacent, but chained together in such a way they couldn't cover their own faces from the tear gas.

Captivating.

"Sometimes I'd need to write work excuses for attendees after the service...I found myself doing the same thing years later while in college: I made up my own excuse slips whenever I skipped class. By the time I graduated, I had killed my entire family."

I'm not crazy about Card's outspoken politics, and I think it may be prevented me from enjoying this book. I realize that great writers sometimes are bigots, and that doesn't necessarily keep people from reading. If that were the case, nobody would enjoy Roald Dahl.

I love this book!

One of the subjects in this book is Ken Sanders, owner of Ken Sanders Rare Books in Salt Lake City, and former owner of Cosmic Aeroplane - I bought a copy of the Anarchist Cookbook there, back in the day (Note to the FBI/CIA/NSA: I don't own it anymore, I sold it to somebody else on amazon.com)

Still reading.

I don't know, I really liked the first books in the series, but the last two, and this one, aren't keeping me interested.

Still reading this - working on getting rid of things. Dropped off a big load at Value Village this afternoon (and only came out with a small bag).

and I'm taking a break from this LONG biography. I already know how it ends...
