This is a really hard review. This is a beautifully written epic portrait of my grandparents generation. The men who came home from WEII are the only ones my generation knows. We looked at them as hero’s, which they were, but we/I failed to understand the cost of what they went through. My challenge - it was just so slow and took me forever to get through. This is wonderful but very slow.
