I am not reading this, it was on a list searching for the book I am reading!

I give up, I just cannot revisit this, however much I believe that a lot of this country's leadership is stuck in the 70s thinking.

This was much more interesting and convincing 40 years ago.

This early on, I feel everyone should read this. Although I can't accept quite all his statements, there are many brilliant passages.

A very strong argument for taking Andrew Jackson's image off our money, not only in his treatment of Indians, but also in that he is a slave-trader, as a business, not only slave-holder. This is a very good book, though, giving a lot of information about the early 1800s that I have stumbled across nowhere else.

Re-reading this 40 years later is rather difficult, especially the parts where the author treats his idea of where the trends he thought he observed were taking us.
