two chapters in and already sobbing

read this to my mom while she was unconscious after an epileptic seizure. do y’all think she thought for a split second these were the words of god?

one of my favourite movies written and directed by one of my favourites. the introduction by tony kushner was amazing already. this is exactly what i need right now. i’m excited

my mom asked me to read this her. no one spreads the word like me.

“This is it, I thought to myself. This is the moment it ends. This is the end of my relationship with my mom. The relationship I never got is over. The window is closing. Or it's closed. I will never get her attention now that the window is closed.” (p. 21)

the introduction was already very interesting. i only know molly from her political writing and appearances on msnbc which already made me want to check this book out. but i’ve been avoiding because i wasn’t really sure if i wanted to confront the topic of dying mothers (since my mom is terminally ill and yada yada). but now it’s time and i’m looking forward to reading this.
