Favorite book of the year! And taking a short break because I don't want it to end.

This is taking forever. Didn't start picking up until halfway through.

After 2 years of reading only a few pages at a time with my EFL student, we are almost done! One more class, I think.

“I should have mentioned,” I said gallantly, “Oliver’s a vegetarian.”

“I’m so sorry.” Miffy gazed at him with genuine concern. “What happened? Is there anything anyone can do?”

Oliver gave a wry smile. “I’m afraid not. But please don’t worry, I’ll manage.”

“Are we really bad at this?” I asked. “We’ve been fake dating for three days and we’ve already fake broken up once.”

“Yes, but we fake resolved our difficulties and fake got back together, and I’m hoping it’s made us fake stronger.”

“My Last Message would be to find your people. And to treat each day like a lifetime.”

Starting off my quarantined mornings with this book is the best thing I've ever done! 😂

“It’s turkey and Havarti.”
“What the hell is Havarti?” Gus asked.
“Semisoft Danish cow cheese,” Casey said. “You’ll love it.”
“That… sounds disgusting,” Gus said. “You should have just called it cheese. I don’t know if I can eat cheese from a semisoft Danish cow.”

"I just remembered. I don’t have stigmata. It’s glaucoma. And that reminds me of guacamole. Which would be awesome right now.”

“What the hell did you smoke?”

Stupid book. Quit making me cry.

Rereading for pride month and #queerbookclub

The name they chose for their first daughter, Claire Olivia, sounded perfectly nice. But here was the deal: Her last name was Casey. Her mother spoke fluent Spanish for her job. They named her Claire Olivia so they could call her Claire O. Casey. Which was supposed to sound like “Claro que sí.” Which means, But of course.
