Okay so in the first half. Gay love is like war. Now at 50% metaphor has shifted to gay love is like authoring a book.

Less a story, more like a treatise on yearning for forbidden love.

I predicted that twist before halfway done.

Still a good story, just plain good not great.

Just an interesting story. Nothing noteworthy or memorable but written well and a good story.

Blech. Another author using "they / them" for a singular character. So dumb.

This book chooses style over substance. And maybe there is substance further in the book, but the prose is really making me work.And i'm not into that. I just want simple entertainment. I don't want to have to set and think about fancy sentences and.

This isnt worth continuing. Why is Koontz so damn popular? I mean good for him. I'm happy for him. But how does he have so many readers? Wild.

I'm at the point in the book where it's had an orphanage for girls.

And all these conversations and dialogue are these twelve year old girls talking to each other. But there is no twelve year old girl who's ever spoken like they do in this book. It's more Bae characterization.
But I understand that is a big challenge for an author to get children's voice, correct.So I'll give them a pass for now.

My impression so far is that this book is dated has tons of cliches and terribly written characters, like really amateur-written characters.
But the book is rated so well so clearly I'm in the minority so I'm going to keep going. Hope for the best.

So far this is cliché central. The bad characters are all villains who monologue. Very cheesy opening so far

The book is good, but i have no clue why. It just is.

This narrator is nuts. One of the best ever.

This author is doing a great job in one strong aspect. She is building a sense of impending... something, quite well.

It's like I know she's building up to something even if there literally is very little going on. The plot is almost absent as we follow this teen around. Butt you know that there are
Arcane, things going on in the background.

Pretty interesting plot so far.

It's a very long book. But this author is really consistent and very skilled. Never a dull moment!

Another twist. Most this one was much more predictable.But it still got me. What an enjoyable story from a very talented author.

I just got to the twist and I did not see that coming even though the author laid a good amount of groundwork very well done. What a great twist.

Unfortunately, the plot turned from a fun caper into one unending long.Heaving bosom.

The list was, this is supposed to be a thriller.But i'm twenty percent in, and it's just backstory after backstory after backstory.

Yeah it's alright. The voice is very similar to Harry Dresden, esp the first few books.

So it is good for what it is... but not the thing I enjoy a whole lot aka "not for me but not bad."

I probably will not continue the series since ive read a million litrpg books already and this isnt adding much.

Oh. Okay, so I got to the twist and the explanation finally and my prior comment stands. The teenagers are absolute monsters horrible people. I thought the author was trying to make them empathetic, but they are not.

Yes, the last story is the absolute highlight by a long shot. Is it perfect yet?No, but I can definitely see that being refined into something really enjoyable.A novel or a t v show. Currently, as it sits, it has too many. This is sanderson ismsms... if that makes any sense not that that's a bad thing

I was gonna put down this book, but something grabbed me in the current short story called moment zero.

This particular short story is the best one in the anthology, and is gripping. If sanders had ever developed this into a longer book, I would certainly be one of the first to purchase it. I swelled what a fun premise and interweaving magic and science and all that entails.

It's all very good. It's all very signature sanderson. Yes, i've ride so many of his books that I can spot his style from a mile away.He is pretty distinctive in his prose.

I'm thinking about abandoning the bug but not through any fault of its own. It's just I'd like to move on to more books.

I just finished the short story called firstborn, and I was endlessly amused by all of the constant references to world of warcraft. I enjoy Sanderson and I have enjoyed that game. So seeing the references was really cool.

This is a very interesting collection.Short stories. I have mostly given up on sanderson's long books.It's just too much to read.

There's some really interesting threads, throughout these short stories that span the course of decades. I can genuinely see that he has an optimistic view on humanity and a little moral overlay into his characters and the way he builds world building and society's.

No, interestingly, the book has shifted back towards the well crafted plot instead of the ultraviolet sexual vignettes that it was doing. And i'm quite grateful for that.However, there still appears to be some shifting back and forth between plot lines... which is a little annoying? I kinda wish it would just focus on one plot and go with that.

Listen well, believe it or not. Sanderson is capable of writing a story that doesn't sprawl nine hundred pages
