Listen well, believe it or not. Sanderson is capable of writing a story that doesn't sprawl nine hundred pages

A huge huge plot hole which is becoming moisture difficult to ignore as we go along.

And yeah just got to a sex scene. And oh boy is it unrealistic to the max lol. The man in the scene might as well be a woman.

The author has really crafted some very lovely analogies. And I was washing, and there's a certain poetry to how it's all put together. That's really attractive to me.As a reader.

To get, I will say there are marks against this book. And the fact that the characters are i've written extremely unrealistically. To be fair, I think that's fa the state of genre romantasy... and I usually don't read the genre.

A bit darker than the movie. Much more background on the characters but otherwise seems very faithful to the adaption.

The original narrator is great. But there's a 2nd narrator that does Lauren's daughter.

And the voice is an over affected 1880s slave voice. Not a person from a future US. It's put of place and more than a little cringey.

Butler's narrative is slow but for some reason the plot isnt slow.

She lingers in conversations. But maybe the trick is that Butler's knows how to move the plot forward a lot im those plodding conversations. Skillful author.

There is a laughable amount of red herrings... ugh. Please don't make it a stupid ending twist.

As mid as I feel about this book. It does have a quality which sucks u into the story.

There's some real naivete on display here with the characters.

I know so I'm bad is just gonna cut this. You need gravity when they're ready to fiction. But other aspects of it are just idealistic.

So they have off this evidence on camera and in the pill bottles.And they decide to flush the pill bottles and confront the killer face to face, instead of taking anything to the police, or to the victims... these characters are written so stupidly.

This narrator is interesting because she has a very prominent rasp. It's prevalent, especially when she carries her voice at all or lowers it at all. I'm surprised that someone with this prominent of a vocal issue is even audiobook narrator.

Every character is written to be a very annoying person. I don't need a character to be likable in a book.It's just a chore to read all these conversations where everyone is.So fucking annoying

This book has ADHD.

SO FAR WE'VE HAD ZOMBIES ACCOMPANY PICNIC. SOME FAMILY DRAMA A DEAD PERSON. SOME OTHER SCENES THAT I'VE ALREADY FORGOTTEN ELSEWHERE.

But this book so far does not deserve all of these great reviews. Not by a long shot.

But also, it makes me curious what the source of the adoration of all these people are. Sorry.I must go find this author's best book and read it instead of this one.

Fucking a barely anything has happened. What in the slow ass pace is going on here?

DNF. The narrator has good characterization and voices.However, it needs mastering by a professional. Because they sound was not equalized, and he would quite often yell into the microphone, which was a painful experience on my earbuds. He was acting on the level of a character in the movie.Apocalypse now.
Also the book contents were pretty juvenile. Of all the things you can write a portal fantasy about.Dinosaurs...

DNF at 4%. This book is very squarely set with a Young Adult tone. And the setup and premise is so painfully predictable that I don't want to spend time on this book.

It seems like it's gonna be okay. I really hope it's not like some kind of dinosaur book that would be super cheesy.

Hang on, I will say this neighborator is pretty difficult to listen to. The volume is not mixed well, so he occasionally lets out an ear shattering yell after being silent for a few paragraphs.

She has, and that makes me sad. Because this is an incredible story. Both in its uniqueness and metho interestingness.

I'm DNFing thw book now. Not because I dislike it or any fault of the book. Simply, I read two be entertained and the deeper I get into this book the more depressed I am about the state of things. I'm not entertained.

He certainly writes in a very clear accessible way, even though the information that he's providing can get to several levels of complexity. So I am appreciating how he lays it out for me.A layman.

Although I am looking at the rest of the next seven hours of this audiobook and wondering if I will stay interested in what he's talking about since he hasn't deviated very far from the narrowscope of the subject.

I'm going to reread this. And starting it after reading ten books.Since the last one in this series... the quality of this writing is insane compared to everything else.

It's entertainment it's really dumb entertainment.

Dnf because this is not good imo. It sounds like it's written by a "grocery store person." An npc... some one that has no life experience outside of movies and TV shows. It's totally evident in the characterization and how they interact with the universe and the rules of the universe. Lord have mercy.

This is a very lighthearted and silly book. It's very well executed, even if the narrator is a little bit ridiculous at times. She really needs to tone it down.Slightly.

This book is good as always from this officer.But I will say that the second half does incur a lot, because the first half for some reason was a little bit slow and disjointed, it's really good.

Good. Standard for this series.
