Right book, wrong time. Will definitely come back to this one when I am in the right head space for it.

The social commentary is on point, but this was too much. I know the author is going for a vibe, this is supposed to be gross and shocking. It is! But being nasty for nastiness sake is just not for me. This would have been much stronger as a short story or novella.

"The Transfer": the horror of charisma

Holy shit, best first page since Haunting of Hill House. Like, "I'm going to tattoo this passage on my body" good.

Written with beauty and kindness, this picture book handles gently the fear school children face every day. Lockdown drills are becoming a part of school routine, but how do our kids feel once they realize their classroom is not the safe place they assumed it always would be? Grandad's example of patience and creativity offers a way for caregivers to know that sometimes the best response is just to listen.

Oh my gosh, I just want to give this 5 Stars though I've only read 54%.

This book opens up with a big old WTF. Like as a smack in the face. Strap in, dudes.
