I just can't bring myself to find this book interesting. Probably I'm just not the right age. I cannot reconcile the childish manner in which the audiobook is read vs the character's age vs what she's doing. If only it were from the Erlking's perspective. Anyway, given that a friend didn't find the final book to be resolved satisfactorily, I'm going to accept that this series isn't for me and move on to other books.

I really thought I'd like this more. There just doesn't seem to be as much whimsy as I thought there would be. The male lead didn't show up for over two hours and the female lead doesn't interest me either. Also, I am not a fan of the audio narrator. At 1/4 finished, I think I probably should take back my time and not finish this one.

I love trying out stories based on the snow queen fairy tale, but I am sooo not interested in wonderkin boys who give attitude to the female lead because she's a "burden". Just...no.

She doesn't like him calling her sweetheart and has asked him to stop and he. keeps. doing. it. The more I read the less I like how much he's objectifying and obsessing over her.

Lisa is starting The Girl in the Tower (The Winternight Trilogy, #2)
I don't even know why I'm trying to push through and finish this series. I hate it. It's so abusive. An entire crowd of men NOT ONE stands up for her and says anything about it being wrong that they ripped off her shirt and basically displayed her in front of everyone. They all just stare at her boobs and call her a witch. I don't care if it has happened historically somewhere somehow. I don't have to read this shit.

I don't know why people like this book. I'm barely two hours in and we have a therapist asking his patient out on a date (and still pursuing her even after she turned him down), a girl repeatedly raped by her father and his brother, and now a man just asked the main character of she was menstruating because she was angry. I am never reading anything by this author again.

I don't like this book. I've tried three different times to start it and never got far. The first main character is a waste of fictional air. I don't care that so many people liked this book. I'm done trying.

Frankly pissed off that Clines had his main (female) character apologizing to another man for perceived propositioning after she's just been sexually harassed by another man who should have been never allowed to travel to the moon. Especially since that same man also admitted that he had the same idea of fucking every woman on the moon when he first got there.

Lisa is reading The Fangs of Freelance (Fred, the Vampire Accountant, #4)
I swear, every time I read a new Fred the Vampire book I want to go back and read all of them. Sadly, I don't have time right now, but this is just a good series to read when you need a fun story with genuinely kind characters. Fred is just so comfortable being himself and so accepting of others and yet he still manages to have adventures. If only more characters like these were out there.

This is not a good start. The kid's mother has outlined the dangers very clearly yet the kid is acting like a damned idiot. I hate him already.

Harper's books always cheer me up. This time she's started a series that is in many ways more small town than Half Moon Hollow, but without the supernatural aspect. And, as usual, the story is as much about finding family/community as it is about love. But I especially like that the family business is fishing/tourism and running a funeral service. LOL

I don't know. this just... bores me. I'm tired of women living in a patriarchal world and being the cool exception. If that is the only way your character rocks, they are insufficient as far as I'm concerned.

I was so close to finishing this book and I just...wasn't interested enough to continue. Perhaps some other time when I have more patience. The world is certainly interesting, but... not right now.

Lost interest once the female character was introduced. She's not at all believable.
