I... am... NOT... WELL after this one. Tears streaming down my face.

On the topic of praying to God when bad things happen and being tested by life:

I can’t say enough good things about Mitch Albom books—wholesome, concise, engaging, and emotional. Beautiful writing styles he’s always had.

That chapter with the 🌊🐉 INTENSE. Oh I was so worried and thrilled all at the same time 😮‍💨

While I do love the outdoors I take much comfort in the fact that I am a girl that likes to craft, read, and be at home—especially after reading stories like these! As much as I like a good adventure, this book is proof that it's ok to stick with guided adventures and chances of death lessen :(

Darrow reminds me of Denethor from Lord of the Rings Return of the King—and no, that’s not a good thing.

Onto book 5—getting close to finishing this series. So close, yet so far away with the length of these books 🤣 WORTH IT THOUGH!

"Some things are just too hard to know until change is actually possible. Understanding how your symptoms are related to missing maternal protection may reduce your shame."

This quote resonates with me so much. I did not realize so many things and toxic things going on in my life and my mothers life until I was finally able to change and break free from my mother by setting boundaries and creating understanding.

Chapter 23 had me rolllling — I wasn’t expecting the hows and whys Ryland was a candidate… no spoilers but if you know, you know.

I am really anxious to find out how this book ends... because it is making me SO curious and wanting more.

“When we understand that mothers love us the best way they can and the only way they know how, blame has no place. A mother can only give her child what she has.”

Love this. This type of empathy helps learn to let go and move forward.

I have absolutely NO time for reading a hard copy of a book so audiobooks… my cousin wanted me to listen to this, being that I am estranged to both my parents, so here goes.

I’m ugly crying 😭

I hope to God this is a happy ending because as “dark” as this book is with humanity being at stake, it makes me happy and I love how much humor is in it.

Also, with the movie coming out soon, I love that my mind connects Ryan Gosling to Ryland Grace, the main character. He will be the most PERFECT roll. The movie better not disappoint 😆 because I’m just adoring this book so much.

Other than A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara... This is one of the heaviest darkest reads I've read, especially as a parent with a little girl. Oofta I will need something light and wholesome after this one.

This truly gives me the chills. And no, I would not think make a SECOND child could fix things. WTH Blythe!
