switched after starting this to a different book, no idea why.
plus, i'm still trying to read a third book at the same time.
after reading a few pages, i do think this book will be a decent reread. i'm expecting (hoping) my opinion to change for the better.

can't get into this one, really disappointed.
hoping starting a fresh new day will help and it's not the start of a slump.

not a fan of the writing.
i've been pushing through hard than usual on this one.
recently, i have been changing my mind once the chemistry between the characters start to play out. i can mostly get used to it, as long as what i'm reading is actually good.

closest dnf in quite a while... still tempted, also still hopeful.

holy hell the smut in this book is 100000000/10, omfg.

i'm not even at 50% yet; so still, i'm nervous about the angst that has to be coming. don't know when or what it's gonna be, but i just have a gut feeling it's gonna be bad. the smut is just too good.

if i wasn't reading this for a challenge i would have dnf'ed it after chapter 2. you know, after reading about dog shit for the entire time (only a slight exaggeration. disgusting
but why i needed to make this update?
the author broke the fourth wall, and i'm confused as to why.
this page is the SECOND time it happened, the first i just didn't want to believe it. why would the mc's talk to me, the reader?

if i could have a novella/short story collection of the ‘core four’ i would be sooo happy.
they’re the ones i’ve thought about the most since finishing the main series and i’m… pleased… with how things went with their part in this anthology. i just want more lol (without their kids).

if i have to read about these characters doom about the same exact fears they have towards each other anymore, my head is going to explode.
it has to be at least 30% of the book, if not more.
at least switch it up.

only three stars atp, we'll see if it drops further.

i absolutely stand by my last review, on lunatic. the love story that has been building between thomas and aidan the whole series thus far is paying off, beautifully.
i know i'll finish tomorrow morning; at least i still have the anthologies left.

so this one is definitely sex focused, at least as far in as i am now. except… it lasts maybe two paragraphs. at this point, i’d prefer less, but longer, sexier scenes.
so far, i don’t like how the mcs have progressed in their relationship (don’t wanna spoil), i’ll add it to my review.
ngl, the actual background plot is the most boring for me so far too.
hopefully it gets better.

uuugh, i’m trying to read (listen to) this for a book club by the 17th but it’s just not my taste at all; so boring. are cliff notes still a thing? 😭

it’s now 4:10am. got super distracted, so i only made it through 42 pages. 😅🫠
determined to finish tomorrow morning.

gonna see if i can get through some more tonight before i go to sleep.
i’ve been enjoying avi and felix’s story so far, and the view into what was happening from avi’s pov along the same timeline as asa’s story.
oo, i hope that there’ll be some interactions with the four of them together, as the way asa explained it could be in his book be intrigues me. i guess i’ll see!

i think this might be my least favorite couple so far. i have a feeling i’ll end up liking them more as the book progresses, but as of right now… just blah.

skimmed SO much… and sad to report that i don’t feel like i missed anything whenever i would pick up reading. it’s almost like there’s too much internal monologue going on in the parts i was reading. scenes were dragging.
my mind is still on my fast paced mob series’ and after just reading two slow paced books before this, i’m just too bored. ll

having a hard time getting into this one… read an entire book after starting this one yesterday.

this is a rough read for me. teetering the edge of too dark.
also conveniently the second book in this trilogy comes out tomorrow, though it also ends in a cliffhanger. it looks like the last book with the hea doesn’t come out until october. ugggh. with this topic, waiting is gonna be painful. 😭

i want to dnf so bad, but i’m already halfway finished. the plot technically would be fine, if the writing had more depth. just gonna push through i think.

juuuuuuusssstttttt communicate? have we not learned from/developed the relationship enough in the past two books? and it’s already a problem again??? doesn’t give me hope for the rest. ☹️

Did anyone else who read this feel like there was just too much background information for the fifth book in the series, but then it would skip ahead and sort of make us guess which part it jumped ahead to?

Too much info we already knew - not enough simple explanations that are needed to make the book run smooth.

Also, so far this is a one-star book, it's so poorly done; just like Heart. *sigh*

I’m eating my words.... I tired switching to Campy and started regretting not pushing through Heart. So I started back at it, and it’s gotten better, I have to say. Not amazing, but not as bad as I originally thought.

I really liked Tank, so I'm a little confused about what I'm not liking about this book. Especially because MMM is a favorite of mine.
I think it's the writing... it's just off.

I'm sticking it out until the end though, so here's to hoping I like it better (or get used to the writing) the more I read.
