Thoughts so far:
> Werewolf bite is a very obvious metaphor since chapter one (not subtle at all)
> Mostly not really my sense of humor (kind of feels like a generation gap)
> Author gives a clear picture of the setting for each scene so far
> Waiting to see if something happens to change my mind about the book, but for now I’m just trying to get through it!

I’ve gotten really grossed out several times while reading. I don’t think I will be rereading this one. Favorite so far is “Our Dope Future” for its irony and how well it integrates a prior character, plus the Reddit post structure of the story.

Great first story (“Lantern”)!
I just read Story #2 (“Schoolgirl”) as a novella in January, so I’m mostly planning to skim through it this time. “Schoolgirl” isn’t one of my favorites of his work, and I enjoyed the narration in “Lantern” more; both have Dazai’s classic introspective first-person POV and general style, though.
