I’m starting to smell some pick me vibes

Pretty disappointed so far, it reads a lot like fan fiction...
I would have loved this when I was 18-19, now not so much.
It feels like EH is regressing and it makes me so so sad because I adored Book Lovers and while I didn't like Beach Read quite as much, it still hooked me and made me feel like it had more to say than making a boring guy your entire personality.

I just wish the blatant misogyny wasn't so blatant. Camilla isn't even seen by Julien, or at best seen as "one of the boys" and whenever she's in a scene there has to be a description of what she looks like; while the other women, that are barely there, are either whores or ugly.

I also wish that Julian was the mastermind puppeteering Henry while he is controlling the other 3.

fingers crossed Book 2 will be at least as good as the last part of Book 1

I really want to at least like this book, but my God is it hard! I've started to ignore the way Richard thinks and describes every women he meets as an object of his desires or how useful she is to him - of course after describing the way she looks, cause otherwise how would we know if she is to be treated as a person - and if he does not find her attractive or useful in some way then why the fuck does she even exist

ok... so I am the only one bothered that the author describes every women in this book as white? If they are ALL white, why the fuck did you feel the need to point it out?

This is already too long! The author keeps saying the same things using other words, very American-like. He also seems to be a quite fat-phobic
