What is this book? It feels so much like a more rushed, less developed, more cringe version if Bitterthorn. Why the hell, if you are supposed to have a world full of gothic scary things, you make them out to be kind and warm and inviting? You have a house covered in snakes and deadass ghosts around. Why diminish their gothic potential by making them kind??????

My reading choices lately have been... questionable, to say the least. This feels so much like going back to my Den of Vipers era, though this is not that extreme so far.

I am willing to ignore the insta-love. They are my babies and I love them. And, strangely enough, I want them to suffer again. I know it's coming. It's just a matter of time. Gimme big bad vamps trying to hurt Evie and Natalya just losing her shit. I want her to lose her shit so badly. Gimme the feral gf.

This is so cheesy and smutty it's crazy. We've got the same sex scene repeated again and again but NO MATTER. I'm enjoying myself.

This is a journey, but at least the cover's pretty. For all the talk around Channi's ugliness, the cover makes a really good job at making her so beautiful. She's prettier than her sister.

The killer doesn't even have to try to be sneaky. He could be right under their faces and they would be too busy fucking to notice.

For such an innocent guy, it's crazy how much you like to see Isaac on his knees. And not only that. This book never ceases to amaze me and not in the good sense of the word.

These people are too horny to save the world, unfortunately.

You want to strip this guy of his powers just to be able to fuck him? I know there are other reasons too, but the ways these two talked about it felt exactly like that. Where's all that I've been promised? Why does this whole romance feel forced?

Why is this guy so horny? I feel we don't try to advance anything at all with the investigation. This book is just Samuel being extremely horny in the presence of these two Blood Workers. What the actual fuck. Give the guy what he wants and let's be done with it.

Again, there is no true motive for Shan and Samuel's dreams of changing the world. They are just there and we are supposed to be okay with them because they are coated in supposed trauma and bad things that have happened to them? I don't know. This book just doesn't do it for me. And that is a pity, cause I've been so curious.

If Samuel keeps up with his bullshit, I'm outta here. He complains again and again about this fucked up system while he - with terrible powers or whatever - hides like a little kid and does not use his powers to help. How much more shitty can you be? You complain, page after page, but you're unwilling to sacrifice your safety for your fucking ideals. So far, it seems that it's me against this book.
