Wow, March. So this book takes place 9 months after the last one--when Molly is almost 11.

I grew up with the original illustrations, not the updated Nick Backes illustrations. And man, do I prefer the originals. Cartoonish and stiff. The one on page 38 is especially bad.

Molly is totally hot for Miss Campbell.

Pregnancy has made me do some weird things. Embarking on an epic Valerie Tripp reread is one of them.

Also I can't believe these books are less than 60 pages each. They are so epic in my memory.

Promising. Pleeeease take me out of my reading rut.

I kinda have a massive crush on this book.

What's most YA to me about this is the narration, which is funny because it's third person. But it's such close 3rd that it might as well be first. Feels very contemporary.

This is SUCH a YA novel.

Don't know if I've ever read this McCaffrey before. Forgot how breezy her characterization can be.

Finally reading this. I thought I was recovered enough from reading book 1 three freakin' years ago, but it's sort of tearing my heart out again.

Interesting so far! The prose is surprisingly dense.

Oh, this is really really FUN so far. Really romancey, but I like how Melissa is handling the alien aspects.

I was in denial about reading this until I realized I'm almost to the 10% mark.

Still enjoying this--the world is so fascinating--but I feel like the narrative is missing a strong central conflict.

Need something to shake me out of my bookslump. My first tiptree! Enjoying this so far. Feels like the set-up to a murder mystery.
