I love everything about this book. Best read of 2025.

Oddly, 3-5 pages will be so interesting and well written. Than 3-5 pages will be horrible--terrible prose/poor grammar/repetitive writing that says nothing over and over again. This ARC has very inconsistent, unbalanced writing.

"The day passing me by in leaps and bounds as I tread in circles, a penitent's' path I neither willingly joined nor suspected."
Is this sentence supposed to make any sort of sense 🙄? I am so sick of YA fantasy authors who think throwing random words at phrases and popping a period at the end makes art.

Well this is creepier than I thought possible! Listening intently for doors opening and closing...not smart to read this while staying in s hotel.

Anyone else love all the S. King-verse refs? Greg Stillmen & John Smith made me smile, but they continue such that is novel is almost King canon...which I guess as his son Mr. Hill gets to do.

Rossen just signed my copy on his tour, and I started reading it immediately there after. Duane voice is priceless--love all the characters really. It has a Mongrels (by SGJ) vibe in a way.

So impressed with this ARC so far!

Can this please just happen? If I could bring one book to life, it'd be this one.

What an incredibly cathartic read! It's absolutely wonderfully addictive. America needs these women now--wish they were real!

Incredible read--hate stopping!

Every bit as wonderful as Book One! I liked Empire of the Damned, but I didn't think it was quite as wonderful as Empire of the Vampire. This one, so far, might even be the best.

Why does Goodreads give me the message that King Sorrow by Joe Hill is not a valid book and cannot by reviewed? Why can't I rate this book? Is anyone else having this issue? It's a FIVE STAR READ! And I can't rate it.

Perfect read--funny, witty, inspirational, fascinating, life affirming and extremely creepy! Not to be read in the dark. I love it!

I can't stand to put this down. Thank you T Kingfisher--I had hoped and hoped for another book by you in this vein (Hollow Places, Twisted Ones, A House with Good Bones). This is magnificent!

Currently wondering why Goodreads will not allow me to rate and review King Sorrow. "Over capacity" it says but only with that book as I can modify other reviews. Very odd. Oh well--it's a 5 star read if ever there was one.

Anyone out there reading this: What on earth is happening with these windows? This seems like a major inconsistency with book 3. Has anyone figured this out? Please! (And I don't mind spoilers at this point--I thought they had to be closed. I thought they were ALL closed).

Pullman is just so brilliant; my awe over his prose--the variation of character voices and all the local color in their speech patterns--the complexity of his world building which is pretty much unequalled--defies a solid brief comment.

But I thought all the windows were closed by divine forces in book 3?!
And...why does Lyra always have to lose her compass?

*Had to start this book the second it arrived, but now I'm splitting time b/n two incredible fantasy reads. What a wonderful problem to have!
