Can't put this down

This is the most addictive thriller.

This reads very quickly.

The prose is far bettered structured than I would have guessed. This is quite readable!

I've gone to see Charlie Jane Anders on tour several times now, and so I hear her voice as I read along, and I love it--I have always loved the pace of her pen and the particular way she fits words together. Why did it take me so long to get to this wonderful book?!

psychological dread in droves--I know this one didn't win the awards her other two won, but damn this is fantastic too.

Purely because Seanan McGuire wrote this. I enjoyed playing Magic ages ago back in college, but not since...still, any book by Seanan McGuire is one I'm gonna read.

I love the beginning of horror novels when the creepy unsettling details begin to trickle in just sporadically enough that you aren't sure how worried about them to get yet.

I had never heard of this author or this series, so this has been a great surprise to find out how much fun it is. Magical & witchy goodness

I really should mention to readers that this is not a horror novel. It's magical realism with a tiny side order of spooky and a slice of urban fantasy. If you read it for these attributes, you'll enjoy it. If you're looking for horror, no. Agents must stop mismarketing novels!

Absolutely loving this! It's definitely a more mature read for older ages than her prior novels. But it is still every bit as original & magical. I don't know how she does it honestly. Every book she writes defies deconstruction b/c there just isn't a formula or a signifier for what she creates. So innovative!

It finally came!

Book elation!

I had no idea there was a new Ransom Riggs out or I would've read it immediately. Already hilarious, weird and wonderful! I hope the new generations actually pick up Miss Peregrine b/c those books are a million times better than the film and have such positive messages.

So just judging by the first short story alone, wow--this collection really deserved every last one of its many awards.

I wish I could make this story last forever--this is exactly the "changeling" book I have been longing for!

Best faerie changeling book ever! I love this author's prose style too--smooth, uncomplicated, chiseled diction.

The best Fae high fantasy I have read in ages--Morgan's prose is so compulsively readable. If all high fantasy was this smoothly written and exhibited this level of restraint and balance, I would read it exclusively.

Really a solid read so far--not too dense (which was my fear)
