I am in no way surprised this book is so good, but also, IT IS SO GOOD! There is enough comfort and hope for justice that the infuriating INjustice of the abuse pulls you in, rather than away. It's going to be ok in the end, I think. :)

That got dark, fast! But very good so far.

This is a WHOPPPER of a book. It's also... kind of weird so far? It doesn't read like any other biography or leadership book I've read. It contains a lot of professionally and aloofly phrased juicy "tea" (gossipy kind of information) about a bunch of upper-crust British folks from the 1940s. Everyone is posh and scared and elated and judgemental and romantically entangled: lots of passages from personal journals.

The first third of the book enthralled me and I was really excited! Sadly, as soon as Psyche and Eros met, my expectations were smashed. They have NO chemistry, and both are stupid and infuriating.

A wonderful academic fluffy romance (well, surprisingly not fluffy, but you know, that's the concept) for the midst of university exams. The character development is by far the best of Ali Hazelwood's so far.
