Eating this UP so far!! This might even become my favourite book club pick we’ve read so far

I don’t have any nostalgia towards this series as I never read it as a kid, and I hate to say it.. but I really feel too old reading this. I would have loved this when I was younger, I’m sure of it, which kind of makes me sad cause it’s not really doing it for me right now. I’ll continue reading it, as it’s easy to read, but I’m kind of sad it’s not as interesting as I thought it would be

Just over an hour in and I’m already annoyed at how often characters call each other ‘mate’

This book is scarier than most horror books I’ve read??? I’m obsessed

I haven’t read a book that made me squirm this bad since ‘the Troop’ holy shit

The more I read this book the more the reviews become a slog to get through. Was excited to read the chapter on Howl’s moving castle until the author calls it an ‘okay’ film and minimises Sophie to a domestic woman who is defined by her taking care of others…? The reviews also tend to contain spoilers which I don’t think a review is supposed to do. Really brings down the overall enjoyment of the book

Okay so this is my first time ever reading this and wow this really puts into perspective how important being able to read is

Already know that this book will take me a long time to get through. It’s taking a lot of brain power to try to comprehend everything and I feel like I need to sit with the things I’ve learned for a while. It has already answered questions I’ve had for years but is also creating new ones lol. So far it already feels very healing to read and I’m a big fan of the soft and accepting language used :)
