God I hope Galen gets shredded

The fool is great, and patience is not what I expected off jump.

I like it fine, but there’s not yet anything to really hook me to this series yet.

This definitely reminds me of “the lies of Locke lamora, but with a more classic fantasy style as apposed to the razor whit and debochery of Locke

Gotta say, I’m not loving this thus far 🤔 Mort by Terry Pratchett is a much more captivating version of this concept, but maybe it’ll pick up 🤷‍♂️

I don’t really understand what the magic and monsters fantasy elements bring to this story? So far it seems a distraction 🤔

Ok, cool concepts, but there is WAY to much tell, how about you let me infer some things huh?

First chapter almost lost me, but the end and into chapter 2, now I’m intrigued!

Some very cool and unnerving imagery. Getting some backstory for our nameless protagonist finally is very cool.

Very strange, very cool and unnerving off the jump.

The human evil is a bit overplayed thus far, but Muriel and the creature are very endearing and interesting, respectively, thus far.

If you don’t love Muriel by the end of page 1, idk how you went so astray 🤣

Some truly beautiful prose here.

This is such an interesting book. It feels more like a exploration of fantasy than a proper story, almost more like writing than reading 🤔
