Err. Don’t bother the writing and story lines are appalling. I made it through half of one book before giving up

Andrew is starting So You Want to Vlog?: How to start from scratch, find your voice & share your stories
I was lost and thought this might help. Honestly I’m not sure it helped very much. I learned how simplistically one can regard vlogging and then realised how much rubbish is produced on the internet as a result.

Vlogging is a very hard discipline to do well and it is clear that the author has been very successful at it. Unfortunately it pursuaded me not to go into it.

Andrew is starting Being Good: A Short Introduction to Ethics
Simplistic and not at all useful or interesting. My fault for not doing more research. It has an audience but that audience is not me. It never really tackles the meat and potatoes it is trying to talk about.

Andrew is starting Reality+: Virtual Worlds and the Problems of Philosophy
I really thought this was going to be a big jump in philosophical debate, but really it just poses the question “are we living in a simulation” if you are a follower of any yogi or more precisely Baghvan Sri Ramana you will see this as simple minded western hocus pocus. The reviewers of this book must have been simpletons to start with. If your only understanding of existence is the Matrix, then go ahead

Andrew is starting The Koran For Dummies
I dip into this now and again as well as the Bible for dummies. The context it gives around the use and perspectives help by Muslims toward the Koran are very interesting. It is well written and enjoyable if you want to learn a bit more about this great book.

Utter drivel - got it as a freebie from Amazon. There was a reason for it being free.

Andrew is starting Connected: The Emergence of Global Consciousness
Thought this would be interesting and it was in the beginning, but really it is just a summary of a research project and doesn’t really deliver what I expected.

Andrew is starting Corruptible: Who Gets Power and How it Changes Us
Love this book, it has so many examples of how power is wielded either for good or evil and the discussions and the possible meanings of these stories and what they tell us about humankind. A fascinating book.

Shocking to learn how corrupt Faucci and the CDC are and the implications for all of us that these powerful institutions and people are having.

Andrew is starting Liquid Times: Living in an Age of Uncertainty
This is a truly remarkable book on many levels. Firstly it is slightly shocking in the way it talks about humankind and how our governments regard us economically and socially. Secondly it is shocking in how we have been lured into seeing our lives and security in a certain way. Quite unsettling in a way. However it is a very powerful if quite academic book. I keep having to reread passages to get the full meaning.

Andrew is starting White Line Fever: The Autobiography
Written as if you are having a conversation with Lemmy himself and at the “speed” of his normal playing this is a rattle through rock and roll history like no other. A man with such toxic blood he couldn’t give blood to others or receive it from others - a true rock and roll hero and a kind of life philosopher. There will never be another Lemmy, you couldn’t imagine him into life he’s that original.

I couldn’t finish the first book. Not really very well written. It was an Amazon freebie. I am not the only one who has this opinion, others have similar feelings. But if you don’t try you know, so I will put this one down to experience.

Andrew is on page 50 of 502 of Happiness and the Art of Being: An introduction to the philosophy and practice of the spiritual teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana
This is a remarkable book and Michael James is quite an extraordinary intellect too. If you want to understand who you are and how to relate to the world and the universe you can do no better than get stuck in to this book. It will radically change the way you see your life and the world forever.

This is an academic look at the current polarisation on views represented by Wokery and political correctness. It is a valuable contribution as it breaks down the illogicality in the current trend we are experiencing. I suspect it is too intellectual for most activists who rather prefer to enjoy the success of weaponised logic and the bullying effect it has on people they target. Hopefully we will see an end soon.

Andrew is on page 170 of 322 of The Rape of the Mind: The Psychology of Thought Control, Menticide, and Brainwashing
Quite a remarkable book - it looks into the history of brainwashing and manipulation of the mind in POW's and demonstrates scientifically how weak minded we are as humans and how easy it is in actual fact to change our perception of things and get us to believe and do things we wouldn't normally choose to do. Quite worrying really considering the current exercise in mass compliance vis a vis Covid
