Okay, so the ocean journey section before the ship got destroyed off the Antarctic coast was prettttttty brutal to get through. BUT I have high hopes business will pick up a bit now. Here's hoping I never see another latitude/longitude pairing for the last 300ish pages, lolll

This has been my worst year for reading since I remembered how to be literate in like 2018 or so - but I'll be damned if I don't finish this book before Christmas break! Lol. It's off to a good start, which is promising.

I'm finally getting somewhere with this one! Can't say I love it so far unfortunately...I'm getting really bogged down by all the characters and places having like 5 or 6 different names. But the initial mythology / world creation myth section was pretty cool!

So, I thought I'd really like this one, and it's been recommended by lots of close friends - but I'm just not connecting with it. A weird one...gonna power through it anyways, though, because it's short and sweet.

I'd really like to finish this book soon and move onto something different, but the prose is so verbose and flowery that it's taking FOREVER. I might just bail before the end, but I hope I can power through it.

I got this book as a gift a few years ago and it just kind of sat on the shelf. I'm glad I finally gave it a go - I'm liking it more than I thought I would!

It's been an alright read so far, but I'm not sure I "get it". Time will tell, I guess. I do find the writing style quite straightforward and easy to read, which is good.

Just finished "The Time Machine". It was honestly kind of a dud IMO. However, I just started "War of the Worlds" this morning and I'm looking forward to it!

Brave New World turned my head toward sci-fi, but Foundation was the one that really got its hooks into me - I've been a big fan of sci-fi ever since.

I'm giving it a re-read to see if I still dig it, and I absolutely do so far! :)

God damn, business is picking up! Against every prior inclination, I am really enjoying this book. It's shaping up to be a good final hundred pages or so.

This isn't in my usual wheelhouse at all, but I'm giving it a go at Shauna's suggestion. I can't say I'm loving it, but I have to admit it's alright! It is good to switch it up and read something outside my usual comfort zone once and awhile.

Taking a brief break from this to read some light and fun sci-fi short stories...but I'm digging this so far!

It's a bit heavy, but I can see why I enjoyed the topic of the soc of religion so much during my undergrad.

So close to completing the trilogy! It's been fantastic.

Ah, the siege of Rohan! Fucking epic. I'm loving this one so far.

I'm really enjoying this one. In terms of style and pacing it reads a lot like Asimov's "Foundation". I'm looking forward to re-watching the Kubrick movie on Amazon Prime after I finish the book!
