What a great series, and a great start to the latest installment. Russell, left in a cave by master Han for 39 years, is still out searching to kill his creator. Sparks takes the time to reacquaint us with Russell and introduces Jia. Unlike some others in this genre, we are not insulted by instant love/sex, instead we are blessed with some sexual tension between the two... Great story building

I am liking the final battle so far. The series has potential

Ok.... The storyline is less awkward... Finally finding its pace, but it could have been done so much sooner and better. Perhaps foreshadowing about Shayna first, her skills her importance...it might have helped

I vacillated about this next section, because I don't want to bash an author, I've stuck with this book, but this section feels like I've read the exact thing in another book. I can't deny I read a lot this year, but the scene in the sex club is identical to another read... On a slightly positive note, there is some suspense and literary tension, making me not want to see the characters get killed here

Even if I ignore the within a day's time I'm kidnapped, agreeing to save the vampire world, having sex with my abductor, and am chain bonded, the awkward character dialogue between Marius and Shayna, even Rumy is painful.

Yuck..."she kept kissing him as she drifted her fingers up and down his c*ck. Marius this is so wrong, I don't even know you,...is it alright if I keep going?" Yes out the door - out of the book - ughh - does this sound steamy to anyone???

Caris, what has happened here...??? These two have the worst awkward lack of chemistry..."you're so muscled...your body is God-like...I can't seem to help myself. Is it Ok if I touch you like this"... Is it ok if I shoot myself like this

Ughh. No sizzle, no chemistry between Marius and Shayna, and the comfortability between these two is overtly forced and uncomfortable to read.
