Love dystopian! I can’t put this one in my classroom, though, sadly. This society lets everyone feel all the feels and act on them without restraint. Eep!

Be anchored in scripture, so you know a lie when you hear it, and have people in your life you can share with, so they can hear the lies and help you battle the enemy too!

“In this world, lies stick because they contain just enough truth to be believable” (86).

Ohh, I’m liking this!!

“There is a good, kind God who is coming for you” (71).

“God replaces our shame with joy!” (52)

When we encounter Jesus we aren’t suddenly perfect, but we aren’t the same either. We should gradually be growing in His likeness.

I’m really liking this!

A student loved this series and is re-reading , so I thought I would read it with him.

“Everything that we allow in our minds, hearts, and live—everything that we spend our time and money on—has an impact on how we grow, or don’t grow, spiritually” (16).

“Day by day—-as we deepen our love, knowledge, and relationship with Him,—we will find that our thoughts, words, attitudes, and actions begin to radically look less like our own and more like His” (10).

Still disliking this yet still have hope it’ll be worth it at some point based on the positive reviews. Ugh

I’m on my 8th read. I pick up new things every year!

Suffering in silence through this. Don’t like to give up easily on books, but I’m close with this.

Oh boy, I did not know this man’s story when I picked up this book, so I was not prepared for this and was reading in public! 😭
