The fact that I'm not a fan so far of this 'time transcending narration addressed to the present day reader'-thing so far does not bode well for how much I'll end up liking this book, I fear 😅

Not sure why, but I'm having trouble taking these characters seriously as being 17 (mostly Kaz), so I'll just headcanon them as being a bit older. Other than that, pleasantly surprised so far! Vibrant, distinct characters (not easy with a rather big cast), a nice setting and a strong plot so far!

I already can't with these silly sounding Dutch names lol. I'd heard Shadow and Bone (which I disliked a good bit) had crappy Russian and so far, in this book, naming a street in the rich part of town the 'Geldstraat' is not helping Bardugo beat the allegations lol

Not really impressed so far. I find it to be quite melodramatic

Going pretty rough so far, not convinced at all.

Shame this is already the last F.C. Yee Avatar book. Going to miss this series!
