- Ik had deel 3 van de Foundryside trilogie thuis laten liggen en anders had ik niets om te lezen tijdens de rest van m'n middagpauze en op de trein 😅

Mmmm that's the stuff, RJB once again not disappointing!

Everyone say "Thank you Standaard Boekhandel for replacing the previous copy that had a major printing error" 🙏

Well, the fun vibes of the first third of the book are certainly far away now 😅

After looking confusedly between two pages for a few minutes, I noticed my library copy has a printing error whereby pages 59-~90 are printed twice, and pages 27-58 are not. Guess I'll find something else to read, and in the meantime tell the library's collection manager to request a new copy (oh wait that's me)

I mean, it's turning out to be a quick read, but smooth isn't exactly the word I'd use to describe it. Structure (both micro and macro) feels a bit all over the place

Some well executed world-building, character building and set-up so far. I'm intrigued!

There's a lot of things I don't like about my job, but one of the few things I do like is that when I have to go somewhere else for work (today, a conference), I can clock in the moment I leave home and clock out the moment I return, and I'm not expected to work on the way there. As a result, I got loads of reading done today on the train to and from Zaventem (the city, not the airport) hehehe

Love when I get my half hour lunch break an hour later than usual on a really shitty day at work, look forward to taking my mind off things by reading, and then get smacked in the face by an insanely tragic moment in the plot.
