Dialogue is so stilted. Who consistently prefaces a remark by saying, “I need to change the subject now”? Or who addresses a person by name when there are only two people present and the conversation is an ongoing one?

At just 13% into it, I'm finding it impossible to not mentally compare it to The Hunger Games.

In some ways this is a difficult book to read. Three young women of different backgrounds face the attitudes of the late 1800s Europe. Women had few rights and less respect.

The light plot of this novel is ok, but the tone is way too snarky. Many disparaging comments about husbands and seniors.

The story line is interesting enough that I want to keep reading even though the writing style seems stilted.

Thought provoking

One of the main characters is a teenager. The others just act like it.

Even though the premise is somewhat unrealistic, I'm enjoying the story line. However the book needs some major proof reading. Frequently a word is almost correct but a verb is the wrong tense or a noun is plural when it should be singular.

So far not enjoying this at all. However I rarely abandon a book so I will plow though it.
