CONFLICT: The conflict in the Lord of The Rings is Character vs Character because the Protagonist of the story is the character Frodo whilst the Antagonist of the story is the Arch-lord Sauron who is also a character. This shows that the conflict in this story is Character vs Character.

GENRE: The genre of the Lord of the Rings is fantasy because while the setting of the book is Middle Earth, Middle Earth is a made up place that boasts unprecedented diversity in the wildlife than on Earth. Middle Earth has many fantasy creatures of myth such as Hobbits, Elves, trolls, and dwarves. These beasts do not exist outside of our imagination and hence-forth are why this story is set in the fantasy genre.

Antagonist: The antagonist of The Lord of The Rings Trilogy is the arch wizard Sauron. Sauron is an evil lord who commands an army of orgs, trolls, men and dark beings known as Black Riders, who are pure evil being camparable to the Dementor from Harry Potter, who he has corrupted and turned evil. He has made his base in a dark place know as Minas Morgol. His goal is to take the One Ring of absolute power from Frodo.

Setting: The setting of The Lord of The Rings is in an imaginary place known as Middle Earth. Middle Earth is home to many imaginary creatures including Elves, Dragons, and even wizards. Other minor settings may include the cities of Gondor and Rohan where the main characters go and are big parts of the story.

PROTAGONIST: Whilst there are many protagonists in my book, I believe the main protagonist to be the hobbit, Frodo. I believe Frodo is the main protagonist because it is he who was tasked with destroying the One Ring and taking down Sauron. He is also the longest known character and the narrator can see his thoughts.

POV: The Point of View of my book is third person limited because the narrator of my book is able to see the thoughts of only 2 of the characters in the book. Proof of this is how the narrator can see the thoughts of Sam and Frodo. When Sam and Frodo where fighting the Shelob, the narrator was in Sam's head, but before that on the way up the mountain the narrator was in Frodo's head.

Inciting Incident: In this Trilogy the Inciting Incident is when Bilbo chooses to leave the Shire, and Frodo, and journey throughout Middle Earth. This is the Inciting Incident because when Bilbo leaves, he leaves the One Ring to Frodo. This in turn creates the need to journey with his Company to destroy the One Ring and take down the Enemy.

Frodo, the Main Character, is surrounded by many friends. Of these people in his company, a few are incredibly important to the journey. One important SUPPORTING CHARACTER is Sam. Sam is Frodo's right hand man and is always helping to influence and counsel his decisions. While Sam may be quick to judge, he still helps Frodo and is an important supporting character.
