In the last 100 or so pages of the book and the plot is only now starting to come together and reveal itself. The first 200 pages are literally so much fluff about baseball and training camps and military strategy. I get that it’s historical context for what was going on at the time America entered the war, but it had nothing to do with anything that went down with the Lost Battalion in the Argonne Forest.

So far I feel like I’m reading a book on war strategy and logistics and moving troops around to this place or that etc. Not what I expected from the description
