Not terrible, but still ridiculously lazy. Especially the Dad apologising and paying for Yale for the mL OUT OF NO WHERE. They didn’t need to prove they loved eachother, they didn’t even try or demonstrate to the Governor why they would be good for his campaign or ANYTHING really. The dad literally just has a change of heart.

“He went back to chopping onions and grating cheese” — how the heck would he do that? at the same time? with a bandaged hand!
The issue I have with this writing is that it feels rushed, and there are enough incoherent details that it takes me out of the moment, and just start questioning everything. It’s distracting.

Decided to give JR Gray another chance after the amateur attempt in and already it’s started off better… but… why would competitive swimmers have ramen (arguably just an unhealthy amount of sodium and carbs) for a meal? The out-of-character traits are still peaking through Gray’s writing.
