Right now, I would give Necessary Roughness 4/5 stars. The Main character, Chan, is very surprising and actually acts like a high school boy. I really like this book for that reason, I feel like I could possibly have a connection with the Main character.

Kim and his father go to a father, and son meeting where Kim's father meets all of the football players. Kim's father likes everybody, and seems to like Kim being in football

Chan was just accepted into the varsity football team. His family is very surprised and happy for him, everyone except his father, that is. His father thinks that being a football player will slow down their production of their shop.

Chan was asked to be a kicker for the football team. He was able to meet the team and the coach, and he was even able to go to the tryouts. At tryouts he worked profusely, and in the end, his new friend Mikko (All-pro) said that he did ok, "you just need time to improve."

the main character and his family find an old duplex to live in for a little while. the owner of the house is an old kind lady, who seems to like the family. The main character sleeps in the attic of the home, after cleaning it up of course. The main character is just now getting enrolled to the school along with his sister.

the family along with the main character went across Montana with Lou. Apogee and the Main character had to pay for Bong's rent money while they were trying to rent a place. Now they are living in a hotel where of which, the main character's parents are arguing.

The main character is just now coming to America, leaving his homeland in Korea. He's talking about his relative bong who is very lazy. He's just now talking about football.

The Main Character is just now moving from Korea to America. He's with his mother and father there and he's telling stories about his past.
