A cautionary tale about the folly of pursuing the idea of something, as opposed to seeing it for what it really is, and how it can bring about one's ruin. Following several influential and affluent men throughout the course of the story, we see the downfall of each as they backstab and kill one another in their lust for a single woman.
I enjoyed it. A thought-provoking work.
