Your destiny didn't die with your dream. God never changed it.

I want us to remind ourselves of this whenever we feel hopeless. We have to ask ourselves, When did I start seeing Christ as less than I need? And what am I fixing my gaze upon that makes Him appear to me as less than enough?

I believe that God heals, wants us to be prosperous, and gives us not just our needs but also the desire of our hearts. But the longer I'm alive, the more I realize that I live to serve at the pleasure of God. When I look back to the saints of old in Scripture, I see how they, like Jesus, became offerings poured out for God. Instead of focusing on their needs, wants, or rights, they focused on who they were serving.

A good God who allows pain seems like a math equation you expect to solve neatly but end up with a remainder you don't know what to do with. God is good + I serve Him = a good life for me. It’s far too simplistic, but deep down that's what we expect.

Exhausting ourselves by taking on undue pressure to ensure a miracle is not what God had in mind when He told us to fight the good fight of faith. The fight is good not because we're great warriors, but because we’re on the winning side. Victory is ours because of Christ’s work.

If we pull back the sling and launch the smooth stone of His Word directly at the enemy's forehead, it will make contact. He will fall.

When trouble hits and we ask why it's happening to us, isn't that a sign that we expected it not to happen because deep down we felt exempt?

But the world changed the day God's first two children made a decision to distrust Him because Satan had convinced them that God was withholding goodness. The irony was that they had no valid reason not to trust. With no prior pain to use as evidence, why would they doubt His intentions toward them?
