This is a good read but I can't bear to give more than maybe 3.5 stars based on how long and boring and confusing the beginning was. Maybe the end will make me change my mind.

So, now I'm totally interested in these characters. Cutting out Deed was for the best and the Interludes are obnoxious. Shadow is probably my favorite character, but I do like Mercy as well. Wish they did more teaming up though because it does feel like two disconnected stories.
