I gotta say that we white people treated the slaves harshly. The description of the slaves was told very interesting but to me they were treated like animals. Like when you go to a cattle auction and make sure the cattle is healthy. That yow the slaves were auction off. Sigh very unpleasant.

The political and history of this is powerful but mixed with how the union vampires and the southern vampires worked again one another was genius writting. Reading the book to hubby has been fun and he has been enjoying it too.
