End of chapter 27: please, someone tell me that they are shaking their head no at this point. The love of her life is still alive. Author foreshadowed it with the women’s group that fought to bring home POWs. Why didn’t she look at the list in all those months of volunteering? (this is just a prediction, of course, but I’ve been feeling it ever since she went to Compton.

Relatable. Interesting timing with this quote when USA under Trump‘s leadership has pissed off Canada with tariffs.
