The short story "The Theory Cadre" is interesting, written as a nonfiction in-universe article about a secretive organisation that is both an occult secret society and a prestigious political think tank (that frequently plays elaborate pranks on the general public) - satirising how both those tend to operate in the United Kingdom as a result of drawing membership from the same social class.

"Jack of Mercy's" is probably my favourite story in this anthology so far, follows an aspiring poet in the 1920's and 1930's which allows Harrison to perfectly capture the look, feel and atmosphere of the era as well as riff on modernist literature from back then (D. H. Lawrence, Virginia Woolf and their ilk) - characters from "In Viriconium" also appear but in a different era + setting which I find interesting

I can recognise some of the stories from "Settling the World" namely "Cicisbeo" and "Yummie", this collection has a stronger internal conceptual continuity detailing everyday life in a parallel timeline where something unspecified but very strange has happened to the UK. A lot of it's told from everyday people just trying to get by in modern society, a secret elf-like civilisation implied to existing alongside them.
