This is surprisingly fun despite being a 2-star I'll give 3 because I cried... but I really just want to finish this so I can justify reading Planet X, Voyager: Echoes, Lords of Silence and anything Ahriman...

But I shouldn't have this many active reads at once... Ahriman Short Stories and Planet X seems feasible, at least in terms of reading effort commitment... Planet X is just... not feasible at all...

Will I be forced to give it 4 stars just because it made me cry? I'm so sad...

I don't know why I'm liking this book... the story is interesting, but not good... the writing style and the writing itself are terrible... I really don't know...

This is probably going to be a 3-Star just because I'm liking it due to dark magics or something... a 2, otherwise...

I just realised and checked... Why was I surprised about the Skaven? It's in the book description. Kalyani and the Skaven are the reason why I wanted to read this book, with a minor hope of the Orruk reading like the Orks from Da Big Dakka... I can't believe myself.

I didn't make any progress, I just thought for a second about the book and learnt how to read.

There are definitely commas missing, and some of the sentences are absolute choices.

I had a similar problem in Da Big Dakka: the sentence is correct, but it's such a confusing thing you need to do a double-take.

The comas thing is new.

I'm so happy to now know the word gaoler and will use it as psychopathically as this author in the future. More so even. It's just so unintuitive... I love it. /g

I just have to complain about how much retreading there is, how unnecessarily long Kalyani's thoughts are and how silly it sounds.

• Saying it's genuine doesn't sound genuine.
• First-person narration in italics in a 3rd-person book already conveys it's a thought, but it always gets dialogue-tagged as a thought in a repetitive, formulaic, mostly non-descriptive way anyway.

Very nice. I didn't know there were skaven in this one... please — and I mean it — please, steal the show...
