Aira is an excellent writer. I powered through the first third of this book and were it not for life's distractions I'd probably have finished it in one day. But.. Am i glad i finished it at all? No, not really. The guardian strapline on the cover is 'Reading him is dizzying'. That's a great pull quote because it sounds impressive but I wonder if the guardian reviewer also wished they hadn't picked it up.
