(1) So far, this series has been told in interconnected short stories.
- I'm looking forward to (what looks like) an actual story arc.
(2) Sure, characters die and there's blood and violence but, despite being listed as "fantasy/horror/romance," I wouldn't say it's been the least bit a horror series.
- I wonder if this will be more "horror" than the first, if at all.

(1) A really poignant final few issues, and I know I should be more touched by it all, but I'm just not.
- The elements are all there except for the storytelling, which drones on and on, one life event after another, never really stopping to dwell on anything.
(2) This uses a lot of thin, full-width, five-panel layouts, increasingly so toward the end.
- I wonder why.

(1) So, issues #7-8 are all about Joan having a mental breakdown and existential crisis. Which presents some interesting ideas, I just wish it was told more interestingly.
- The "Too Hip For Love" refrain is getting super annoying.
- I understand that a mundane and unexciting existence is the vibe they're trying to convey, but this is sorely in need of punch and zip.

(1) You know that feeling where you're so used to a Goodreads glitch that when it doesn't happen you're totally confused, while at the same time paranoid that the newfound working-order might end any second?
- Well, that's the plot here.
- Joan's so used to her life glitching and rebooting after she accepts a marriage proposal that continued existence is frightening.
