okay i totally get why this book has persevered over the centuries. "my friend wasn't happy to see me and now I'm all embarrassed and pretending to sleep in so we don't have to talk" "i'm ignoring this guy's flaws so we can be superior together" "got drunk at a party and yelled a bunch of weird stuff"--all timeless parts of the human condition
