Read the first eight stories last summer, cautiously, not sure what I would think about them. My desire to pick this back up has steadily grown, and I am ready to drop the caution and admit that I am hooked. Strangely, though, I'm not sure that I would give any of these stories individually more than three stars, yet the overall mood is so powerful it keeps drawing me back.
