Funny when Thomasina said "I have grown up in the sound of guns like a child of siege" because growing up in the country hasn't changed much since then.

The connection of Septimus and Tomasina's friendship is so sweet because I think they both know that they are cleverer than all of their peers. Which according to Septimus is quite rude! And quite right too :))
